I have gone, gone so far away ...

Sailed across the oceans and the seas for far too long  

But my memories always take me back to where you are

Now, I'm here pondering, just wondering how you are.

 Oh, how I long to tenderly hold your hands now gnarled from the years of toil

And gently stroke your wrinkled, oh now so grayish ancient brow.

As you sleep through the night, let me sing you your favorite, broken lullabies

And retell your legendary stories oh, so funny, old and wise.

When the storm clouds gather and the rain hides the stars from your failing eyes
