A RAY OF SUNSHINE

You are like a ray of sunshine that shines all around
Your radiant smile, your kind and gentle hugs brought so much comfort and warmth
to those long and  wintry days.

Your lighthearted spirit was like the rain that brought tears of joy and laughter
Flowing to unending streams and rivers
A balm to the dry and dreary days.

Your fervent prayers were like the soft breeze that surround me
When the winds gently rustle through the trees
Oh, what a soothing peace.

Your hope was like the beautiful daffodils that blossom every spring time
Waiting for the wonderful promise of what is to come.

Your faith was like a tree planted on good soil,
Firm, unwavering and strong.

So that, even when the dark days dawned and your strength was spent
Still you raised your hands, thanked the Lord and praised.

And even when the pain hurt so much
Still you sang of the Lord's glory, raised your hands and praised.

A humble and generous servant of the Lord, that's what you are.
A gleaming ray of sunshine that lingers to warm the heart.

Thank you for all the wonderful memories
Till we meet again.
